Friday night small town Nanaimo turned out to watch the Nanaimo Clippers face off against the Surrey Chiefs. It was the third home hockey game this season for the Clippers and their third home game defeat. The final score was Surrey Chiefs five, Nanaimo Clippers four. It took an overtime period to defeat the Clippers.
The fans live in hope. Three times was not the charm. C-Dog, the team mascot valiantly bangs his drum and leads the cheers, but it's going to take more than that to take this team to the playoffs.
Next Friday the Nanaimo Clippers play before the hometown fans in a contest with the Langley Chiefs.
