BCHL Hockey Nanaimo Clippers Lose to Langley Chiefs in Overtime

Friday night's BCHL hockey game saw the hometown Nanaimo Clippers lose yet another game, this time to the Langley Chiefs in overtime. The final score of Nanaimo Clippers 5 Langley Chiefs 6 was not settled until the second overtime period.
The game was a high scoring, hard hitting one that was punctuated with many penalties. The Langley Chiefs' head coach, Harvey Smyl, was notably absent for the last two periods of the hockey game. No love was lost on the ice either, with a mini brawl in the second period. The Nanaimo Clippers' captain was in the penalty box during the crucial last minutes of the game.
The Nanaimo Clippers have no time to dwell on their at home loss. They play the Alberni Bulldogs tonight, Saturday, in Alberni. Then on Sunday, they play at home at the Frank Crane Arena against the Powell River Kings.
When you look at the photos of the game of the Clippers vs the Chiefs, you may notice the pink laces in the Clippers skates. The team wore pink to support the Run for the Cure campaign. The Nanaimo Clippers may not have been successful in their at home games this season, but they continue to be winners in their support of their community.
