Friday night saw about 1 600 fans witness the BCHL Nanaimo Clippers lose yet another match by one goal.  The score:  Nanaimo Clippers 1, Cowichan Capitals 2.  Nanaimo Clippers and Cowichan Capitals carry on a rivalry from year to year, meeting eight times this season.  Both teams are close in the tally for points in the Coastal League.

Cowichan Capitals scored late in the first period.  Nanaimo Clippers answered in the first few minutes of the second period, but couldn't find their way past the hot Cowichan Capitals goalie who was awarded first star of the game.  Nanaimo Clippers outshot the Cowichan Capitals 34/18, but the only shots that count are the ones in the net.

Tempers flared throughout the game with two players sitting it out for five minutes for fighting.

One of the players for the Nanaimo Clippers who has been brought up from the younger players, not on the official roster of the Clippers, proved to be a star as well.  His skating skills were so outstanding that fans were wondering who number 10 without a name was.

Next home game for the Nanaimo Clippers

Wednesday, January 27 against the Prince George Spruce Kings
