Cowichan Capitals scored late in the first period. Nanaimo Clippers answered in the first few minutes of the second period, but couldn't find their way past the hot Cowichan Capitals goalie who was awarded first star of the game. Nanaimo Clippers outshot the Cowichan Capitals 34/18, but the only shots that count are the ones in the net.
Tempers flared throughout the game with two players sitting it out for five minutes for fighting.
One of the players for the Nanaimo Clippers who has been brought up from the younger players, not on the official roster of the Clippers, proved to be a star as well. His skating skills were so outstanding that fans were wondering who number 10 without a name was.
