BCHL Nanaimo Clippers 2 Penticton Vs 5
In BCHL action Saturday night at the Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo, the Nanaimo Clippers managed 2 goals to the Penticton Vs 5. The game was hard fought. The Nanaimo Clippers kept the score close in the early part of the game, allowing only one goal to the Penticton Vs in the first period and tying it up in the second. When the Penticton Vs scored a second time the Clippers answered with a goal of their own. It was only in the third period that the Penticton Vs pulled ahead with the decisive three goal lead. The Penticton Vs out shot the Nanaimo Clippers 38 - 21.
Some would say that BCHL stands for Bad Calls Hockey League. Referee decisions seemed to play a large part in the game between the Nanaimo and Penticton teams. At times the Nanaimo fans were chanting, "We want a ref, we want a ref." Some players took direct action to settle scores and fights were numerous and continued until the last minute of play.
The Nanaimo Clippers have a few days to reorganize and recuperate from their latest match. They meet the Powell River Kings at the Frank Crane Arena next on Friday, October 30.
