The BCHL Nanaimo Clippers won their match against the Powell River Kings with a score of 3 to the Kings 1. The Nanaimo Clippers' victory was particularly sweet as it was two in a row against the Powell River Kings.  Nanaimo Clippers had the week off as their scheduled match against the Victoria Grizzlies had to be postponed due to flu having swept through the Grizzlies' team.  It was a good thing as it allowed injured players a chance to recoup and return.

Shots on goal were pretty much even with 27 Clippers' shots to the Kings' 26.  The Nanaimo goalie only allowed the one goal and he was named First Star of the game.

Powell River Kings fought hard to come back from their 5/1 loss to the Clippers last Friday.  There were a lot of questionable plays during the evening.  The Clippers' head coach was tossed early in the game for objecting to the reffing. A particularly bad call in the dying minutes of the game had the Nanaimo fans irate.  A penalty was called in the final two minutes against a Clipper player(light jersey) for goal tender interference.  As you can see in the picture, the Clipper was down and being pummeled by the offense.

Nanaimo Clippers play next Friday at the Frank Crane Arena against the Burnaby Express.
