They went on to pull ahead only to be tied. The final goal, scored by the Vicoria Grizzlies in the dying minutes of the game, gave them the victory.
The first hockey game of the BCHL season was a rough one. It looked, from the stands, that players were settling old scores. Many penalties were assessed with the Grizzlies serving penalties as the game ended. One of the penalties was boarding against Bremner of the Clippers who had scored three goals in the game. Bremner got up slowly but was able to continue the play.
