Leeds United's Jermaine Beckford has been named League One Player of the Year at the Football League Awards.

The 24-year-old striker received the award after being ranked 24th in the Top 50 Football League players, announced in London on Sunday evening.

He also won goal of the year for his strike against Rotherham United last year while on loan at Scunthorpe.

"I didn't set any targets at the start of the season, other than to prove myself," he said.
