Chinese rush for Beijing Olympic tickets
Beijing hotels may be struggling to rent rooms, but the Olympics themselves are having no such trouble. On Monday, the Beijing Games became the first ever Olympics to sell out of tickets.
Organizers of the Beijing Olympics have announced that all of the tickets for events in the Chinese capital are sold out.
The announcement came Monday in a brief notice on the Beijing Games' Web site and makes the August 8-24 event the first Olympics ever to sell out.

Tens of thousands of enthusiastic Chinese fans waited in line for as long as two days to buy the last group of tickets on Friday. The scene was chaotic at ticketing centers in Beijing as fans battled police, reporters and each other to make their purchases.

Approximately 250,000 of the tickets available were for events in Beijing, while even more were for early round football matches in several other cities.
Beijing's craiglist page is now full of ticket sellers. One way place not to look for last-minute seats is Beijingticketing.com, apparently.

Thats great to hear. Hopefully the 2010 Olympics will learn from this and be the second Olympics to sell out all of the events.

Nothing like the "Communists" making millions on the backs of the repressed. They need to Free Tibet now, and allow free speech and freedom of religion.

Well, they learned from the Capitalist and seem to get better at Capitalism then the Capitalist them self's! Free speech is not on any Capitalist Agenda either! Money is though!

Only cuz they sold them to their own people, at least those not too superstitious, and who maybe thought they would be shut out by foreign ticket sales. Available on Craigslist? From people who changed their minds, or just speculators?

Oh, wonder how much of a discount they offered their own people to get them 'sold-out'?
