On Wednesday night, Beijing residents and city guests could watch the rehearsal of fireworks for the Olympic opening ceremonies at the “Bird’s Nest” National Stadium. The excitement is in the air as the Olympics are fast approaching in 22 days. Judging from the reactions, the world will be treated to a terrific fireworks display on the big night of August 8th!

Just like any other Olympic partcipant, the Bird Nest is also “practising” by having a fireworks rehearsal for the opening ceremony last night, 16th July 2008.

The 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing are less than a month away! The folks over in China, ever trying to make sure the games run smoothly, ran a quick rehearsal for the opening night ceremonies on August 11. And from the amazing pictures, 2 things become clear: 1. The opening and closing ceremonies are going to be spectacular — assuming the smog doesn’t dampen their parade. And 2. The Chinese are kind of like that scary redneck neighbor you can never really avoid. In that no firework can ever be too fabulous!
The fireworks took many sightseers by surprise. They said they are confident the opening ceremony will go well.
