However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s introduction to international cricket was truly memorable as his brilliant spell nearly inspired India to victory over Pakistan at Bangalore. The Uttar Pradesh youngster handled the pressure brilliantly and showed remarkable application to record the 12th best figures in the annals of T20 Internationals and the second-best by an India after Pragyan Ojha’s 4-0-21-4 against Bangladesh in 2009.

Bhuvneshwar, born December 5, 1990, made his First-Class debut for Uttar Pradesh as a 17-year- old in 2007. Since then, he has been a promising prospect with his side backing him to perform. In 2009, the Royal Challengers Bangalore recognised that potential and handed him a debut in a Champions League T20 encounter.
