I went to Maryland yesterday to see The Preakness. Due to how I got in to see the race, I had to stay in one spot so I wasn't questioned by security. That spot had to do more with being able to shoot jockeys, so getting something out of the race was not that possible for me. This is the best shot I have of Big Brown. All thoroughbreds are beautiful. He's no exception. There was alot of screaming, but nothing beats the Funny Cide craziness. It was actualy a pretty subdued day of races, although optimistic.
This is the first time I've used a camera I just wanted to try out, the Nikon P80. I'm not exactly wowed by the flavor/texture of the image in alot of ways, like I am always floored by the look I get from the Panasonic Lumix FZ20, but I couldn't have gotten this with that camera. This is 486mm equivalent. Not to shabby. For what it weighs, and what it looks like, it's kindof crazy. They are walking across a turf course that is a full dirt track away from me.
