Comedian Bill Murray has reportedly been approached by businessman Tom Ricketts to buy part of the Chicago Cubs.

Ricketts is working to buy the team from the cash-strapped Tribune Company. It's been reported that Ricketts has asked Murray as well as actors John Cusack and Jim Belushi to invest as much as $25 million in the team. Ricketts approached the three actors several weeks ago. No word yet as to how far talks have progressed.

In many ways, Murray would make a perfect owner. An Illinois native, Murray is a diehard Cubs fan who has made several appearances at Cubs games. Maybe he could hire Carl Spackler as Head Groundskeeper at Wrigley Field.
