Orato.com has our very own Olympic athlete, Mr. Billy Nelson. Nelson needed to finish in the top three and beat the Olympic “A” standard of 8:24 in the men’s 3,000m steeplechase final at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials to make the team for Beijing. He did just that, fighting his way to a personal record of 8:21.47 seconds. “This was my dream,” Nelson said. “I’m going to the Olympics.” Billy is now on Chinese soil, giving us a bird's eye view from the track and from behind the scenes. Follow his personal journey, in his own words.

Billy,
Its really amazing to see what you've accomplished. I had no clue what an exceptional steeplechaser you've become until I saw "the race" last month. I'm proud to tell people that I spent three good years running with you in the fields (and ditches!) of Taft. I am also happy to see that you are still bowling and kicking ass at that too. My entire family will be pulling for you next week - we can't wait to see you up on that medal stand.
