The Boston Marathon 2012 Took Place on Monday, April 16. The 2012 Boston Marathon Was Won By Wesley Korir and Sharon Cherop

Wesley Korir won the 2012 Boston Marathon on Monday, April 16. Korir, a native of Kenya living in Louisville, Kentucky, finished with a time of 2 hours 12 minutes and 40 seconds.

He was followed by Levy Matebo came in second and Bernard Kipyego was third.

Korir's winning time was the slowest Boston Marathon winning time since 2007.

Sharon Cherop narrowly beat Jemima Jelagat Sumgong to win the women's title at 2:31:50. Cherop beat the second-place finisher by just two seconds.

The top three competitors in the men's and women's categories hailed from Kenya.
