BOXING BC - ROAD TO GLORY: By Brian Zelley

The final tournament in BOXING BC's "Road To Glory" will tale place in New westminster on June 25 & 26 th with the staging of the 2010 BC Bronze Gloves.  The tournament will be co-hosted by the Queensborough Boxing Club  which is coached by former boxer SCOTTY JACKSON.

The Queensborough club has a long history under the previous coach and 1966 Commonwealth Games medal winner, the late FRANK SCOTT.  Also, the BRONZE GLOVES have a tradition that stretches back for many years when the former club the North West Eagles of North Vancouver hosted many tournaments in the Sixties with assorted champions from across the Province such as Nanaimo's Newcastle Boxing Club members

Mike Lazare, Ken Stant and Rick Johnson from 1965 and 1967.

The BOXING BC objective has been to spread the tournaments around the provincesuch as the  2010 BC Golden Gloves co-hosted by the Victoria based Capital City Boxing Club and the 2010 BC Buckskin Gloves by the 2 Rivers Boxing Club of Quesnel.

One of the potential stars of the tournament is expected to be 2 Rivers boxer Daniel Mott, the 2010 Buckskin Boy.  But in any tournament one cannot predict who will be the Bronze Boy or Bronze Girl.  Time will tell, and in two days the story will have another series of champions to add to Amateur Boxing in British Columbia HISTORY BOOK.
