In recent months some of the Nova Scotia Amateur Boxers in action were

B. Blair, Carl Campbell, Taylor Gordon, Kyle Patterson, and Cyrus Taylor.

An expected event in June 2009 is the Harry Trainor Memorial Event.

May 2009 also marks 25 years since Nova Scotia junior boxers competed in

the 1984 Junior Nationals at  Burnaby, B C.  Team members were:

Norman Tynes, Dean Jeffries, Troy Dickie, Dwayne Loppie,

Tony Kelsie, Raymond Wiswell, Shawn Downey, Ray Downie,

Rodney Walsh and Brian Hatfield.

Two Nova Scotia senior boxers, Peter Britt and Darrell Flint competed in

the senior box off action but were unable to join Wayne Gordon onto the

1984 Canadian Olympic Boxing Team.

Looking back through the pages of Nova Scotia amateur boxing history

some names to remember:

Chris Clarke,  the Gordon family,  the Downey family, Carroll Morgan, Ricky Anderson,

Murray Sleep, Richard (Dick) MacLean, and many others.
