Brady out for the year
I am deeply saddened by this news. I was hoping the Pats could repeat the perfect season (unlikely but hoping) or even better, win a Superbowl. All that dream has come to a crashing end as Tom Brady is done for the year.
I saw the highlights of the hit and it does not look good. Lets just hope they can make it into the playoffs with Brady recovering fast enough to make an appearance in that. We shall see.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is out for the season with a left knee injury that will require surgery.
The NFL's reigning MVP will be placed on injured reserve, the Patriots said Monday, one day after his knee was injured in the first quarter of a 17-10 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
A statement issued before coach Bill Belichick's news conference said Brady will have surgery, ending his 128-game starting streak, the third longest for a quarterback.
Brady left Sunday's game against Kansas City after he was hit by Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard. Brady was not available for comment, but reports circulated around the league that he had torn his anterior cruciate ligament.

I am haunted by this photo of Tom Brady entering the Super Bowl last year. At this point, the Pats were undefeated and on the verge of becoming the greatest team in history with Brady the greatest quarterback.
Of course, David Tyree's miraculous catch short circuited all that even though Brady led his team to a score in what looked like the final drive of the game before Mannng and Tyree and fate took over.
In the span of a game and a quarter, after this picture....Brady has gone from the threshold of perfection to a year ending, perhaps career threatening injury. It was all right around the corner and in this picture it's almost as if Tom can see the catastrophes ahead

Words cannot express the deep disappointment that I felt after that hit on Tom Brady. I can only hope for a speedy recovery and that Tom will be back next year, doing what he does so well. He's one of the greatest to have ever played the game and position.

LOOKING FORWARD TO the Jets season, but unlike what Pats fans may think, I HATE Brady's injury. I am old enough to remember the Namath injuries, I am living through Pedro's pain - you can relate, Boston. JPN
