A Cleveland television station has reported that Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Shaun Smith attacked quarterback Brady Quinn last week. According to Brown's play-by-play man Jim Donovan, Smith punched Quinn in the face in the team's weight room.
Browns head coach Romeo Crennel did not confirm or deny the story.
"If it happened, we're keeping it in house," Crennel said
This isn't the first time that Smith has been involved in altercations with teammates this season. After a loss to the Denver Broncos, Jamal Lewis and Josh Cribbs accused unnamed players of quitting on the team, comments that were believed to have been thinly-veiled criticisms of Smith. Smith also reportedly had a "heated confronation" with an offensive lineman during a recent practice.
