Brandon Spikes Suspended for 4 Games Following Drug Test Results
New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes got a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs policy. Spikes is not contesting the ruling, and apologized to his team and to his fans, while saying that the drug he took was neither illegal nor a performance enhancer.
The drug for which Brandon Spikes has tested positive has not been made public. Spikes will miss the rest of the regular season, but will be eligiple to return in time for the playoffs.

The suspension begins immediately with Spikes eligible to return after the Patriots final regular-season game on Jan. 2.
Spikes does not plan to appeal the suspension. He will serve it immediately to return in time for the playoffs.
