Brazilian football legend Ronaldo has decided to retire, Brazilian media reports. The 34-year-old star told the media in Sao Paulo that he wanted to continue but he can not do it any more as the body is hurting him. He said the head wants to go on, but the body can not take any more. Ronaldo had already said of retiring at the end of this year, but a succession of injuries have pushed the date forward.

The Copa trophy, South America's most prestigious club tournament and equivalent to Europe's Champions League trophy, is the only one Ronaldo has not won in his spectacular career. Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. He picked up a string of honors, including the FIFA Player of the Year three times. His career took him to some of Europe's top clubs, including FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain, and Inter Milan and AC Milan in Italy.
