Retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre will stay retired. Favre ended his months-long dalliance with the Minnesota Vikings, deciding instead to stay retired.

Favre's retirement decision comes just one day before Vikings players were to begin reporting for training camp. With Favre out of the picture, the Vikings will likely go into camp with Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels at the QB position.

Vikings coach Brad Childress told the Star Tribune that Brett Favre told the team that he didn't want to deal with the physical and mental grind of playing a 16-game season. Many fans will no doubt be glad that they'll no longer have to deal with the physical and mental grind of having to here about Favre's countless on-again, off-again comebacks.
