Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre is now a grandpa. Brett Favre's daughter Brittany Favre gave birth to Parker Brett on April 2.

If Favre returns to the NFL season, he will become the first grandfather to play in the NFL.

ESPN's Adam Shefter wrote that Brett Favre confirmed his daughter Brittany Favre gave birth today:

"News of the day: Brett Favre confirmed to ESPN's Ed Werder that he is now a grandfather. His daughter Brittany recently gave birth to a son."

For Favre to become the first NFL grandfather, he has to return to the Minnesota Vikings. Thus far, nothing has been confirmed.

Viking coach Brad Childress spoke to radio station KSTP and said he has nothing new to report on the return of Brett Favre. When asked if he had news about Favre, he said:

"I don't know if he's even thought about it or contemplated it. I [spoke] with him briefly last week and I'm sure  we'll narrow it down as we get a little bit further."
