02/20/2010 NEWARK, DE: Junior guard John Holland, from my hometown The Bronx, demolished The University Of Delaware Leading The Terrier with 43 points, Holland connected on 14 of 20 shots from the field, including 6 of 10 shooting from beyond the three-point arc, and finished with 43 points, including 24 in the second half, breaking the Bob Carpenter Center mark of 39 set two other times. It was the highest scoring effort by a college player in the history of the Bob Carpenter Center and four points shy of the Boston University single-game record, The 43 points was the most scored against Delaware since Bob Lloyd of Rutgers dropped in 51 against the Hens on Dec. 12, 1965.

The University of Delaware hung with The Terriers for the first half of the game, evening going into the break tied with Boston University 36 all, The hens was playing tough for the first half; they were aggressive, rebounding the ball and even finishing lay-ups, for a quick second i thought this might be the day for a Delaware upset of BU, However this would't be the case, To open up the second half, BU went on a 9-0 run, The Hen just looked like they were out of gas. What happened to that aggressive play?  What happened to the rebounding? Well Coach Ross had the answer "In the second half, our inability to get key stops was the difference, We didn't finish layups early which could have given us a lead in the first half. We just didn't get the job done defensively, especially on John Holland."

Alphonso Dawson led Delaware with 19 points and pulled nine rebounds Jawan Carter scored 12 with Four Rebounds and 4 Assist and Hakim McCullar came off the bench to contribute 11 points this afternoon.  Delaware will continue its home-stand wednesday with a Colonial Athletic Association contest against George Mason University when they come to town on Wednesday, February 24 2010 for the final home game of the season at the Bob Carpenter Center, Afterwards delaware will head to Towson for a Colonial Athletic Association contest, If Delaware loses it final Game of the season, Delaware would have lost 20 Straight roads games, Coach Ross will have to figure out how to return the blue hens back to a respectable team, Delaware falls to 7-21 overall and 3-13 in the CAA, remaining all alone in last place in the Colonial Athletic Association league.

BU has won four of its last five games with, One lost against Vermont. Featuring the America East's top scoring offense of 69.8 points per game, the Terriers will get a week to recharge and prepare for the visiting Maine Blackbears in there final contest of the regular season at Case Gym. BU will honor nine seniors on Saturday, Feb. 27, before the 2:30 p.m. tip off.
