Can pole dancing make it as an Olympic sport?
Pole dancing's booming popularity since its emergence as a fitness trend three years ago has inspired several California women to start a petition for the sport to make it into the 2012 Olympics.
However, the sports to be included in the 2012 summer Olympics have already been decided, and the 2016 roster of Olympic sports is already a very narrow list. So it's likely that pole dancing will not make it into the summer Olympics in the next 10 years. Tara Graham reports.
Pole vaulting, swimming and gymnastics are among the usual sports at play during the summer Olympic games, and an army of pole dancers are leading the charge to get their activity added to the lineup.

Wonder if they've paired up with Carolyne Braid, the Canadian woman that's working on the same thing.

There'll be something to compete with beach volleyball in terms of first-choice ticket popularity.
