Canada assured itself of winning the most gold medals at the Vancouver Olympics Wiinter Games. Two victories Saturday gave Canada 12 golds. With only three events still undecided before the games end Sunday no other country could catch up.

Congratulations to Canada.

Vancouver hosted a great

Olympics and the Canadian

Olympic teams and athletes

won as champions should do.

The surge over the past four days was a remarkable turnaround for Canada, And it's been a huge relief for Canadian Olympic officials, who entered these games predicting that their five-year, $117 million Own The Podium program would enable it to win the most medals overall.

The US will play Canada for  the men's

hockey gold medal. For Canada

hockey is everything in the Olympics, more

important than every other event in the

Olympics. The US will be to earn its first

men's hockey gold medal since 1980.  I

\am American and am proud of my country

but I still want to see Canada win the hockey

Olympic gold medal.
