Yesterday afternoon, Taylor Pyatt was hit in the face with a puck. News of the extent of his injury has just been released on the Canucks website.
Pyatt was struck in the face by the puck on a clearing attempt by Blues' defenceman Eric Brewer in the first period of Sunday's affair. Pyatt was forced to leave the game and did not return, as he tore open his upper lip and knocked loose a few teeth.Pyatt required 25 stitches to patch up his lip, and visited the Columbus team dentist to have a splint inserted into his mouth which will hold his teeth in place. He will have to wear a full-shield face mask indefinitely to protect the injured area.
Pyatt's participation in Tuesday's tilt with the Blue Jackets is questionable; although Vancouver is hopeful he will be able to play.

ryan nadel, I like this story. It's good stuff.
Good thing he's got the Blue Pools of Forever to sustain him. But seriously...a better argument for a shield? Mouth guard? Me thinks not.
