I wasn't at the game, but I think the Canucks did a wonderful job of celebrating the life of Luc Bourdon last night with the tribute. His promising career was cut short when he was killed in a motorcycle accident back in May.

The continuous chant of "Luc" was heard throughout the night as the home team played a spirited game honouring their teammate.

Luc Bourdon, the former Vancouver Canuck defenceman with the big smile and bright future, will never play in GM Place again but his presence will always be remembered in the building.

The Canucks honoured Bourdon Thursday night with a moving tribute prior to their NHL season-opening game against the Calgary Flames and by unveiling a wall dedicated to his memory.

How the Canucks paid tribute to the 21year old.

Prior to the match Bourdon's last game-worn jersey was presented to his family. A heart-warming video - showing pictures of Bourdon as a child, him playing junior hockey and his days with the Canucks - was played on the big screen while Tom Cochrane and Ken Greer of the band Red Rider played their hit song Big League.
Earlier in the day the Canucks unveiled the Luc Bourdon Wall of Dreams at GM Place.

All players on the team will be wearing LB on their helmets to honour Luc Bourdon.

If anyone was at the game last night, you could provide us with some insight on the mood and feeling inside the arena.

It was so sad when he got killed. I'm glad they at least remembered him in a tribute.
