With the NBA lockout happening now there is a void for basketball content. The Basketball Channel in collaboration with DaCast wants to fill that void.

On August 20th, 2011, the two will broadcast live a "Capital Punishment" game from Washington DC. The game will be played by high profile NBA players during the lockout. Players include Kevin Durant, James Harden, John Wall, Nick Young, DeMar DeRozan, Gary Neal, Dorell Wright, Tywon Lawson and many more. The players will be playing for the home area (Washington DC vs. Los Angeles) and not NBA team affiliations.

The game will be a pay per view event (ppv). It will be done from DaCast's Pay in Play system that is inside the media player. The cost is $4.99 up until August 19th. On game day the price is $9.99.
