Carmelo Anthony may be going to the Los Angeles Lakers, according to some reports.

ESPN's Chris Broussard says that the Lakers and Nuggets are having preliminary discussion about a Carmelo Anthony trade. Broussard reports that the Nuggets may receive Andrew Bynum in exchange for Anthony. He also reports that the team has no interest in Ron Artest.

The story also notes that a three-way trade between the Knicks, Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves is still a possibility.

Carmelo Anthony may have helped boost his trade value by scoring 50 points against the Houston Rockets on Monday night.

Some have noted that the Carmelo Anthony Lakers trade may not make a lot of sense.

The trade makes little sense for the Lakers in one key sense — they need to improve their defense if they want to defend their title, and Bynum is the anchor of their defense. Anthony can fill it up and is a great shooter late in games, but the Lakers offense already the most efficient in the league the Lakers have their closer.
