A case was filed against cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, tennis star Sania Mirza and  cricket commentator Mandira Bedi for insulting the Indian flag.

One B Stalin who filed the petition in the Madras High Court has urged that concerned officials be directed to take stringent action against the trio.

Sachin has cut a tri-color cake during March last year. Sania Mirza sat with her feet pointing at a National flag and Mandira wore a tri-color saree. Stalin said that all these acts amounted to insulting the national flag. He has demanded action against them under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 and Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper use) Act, 1950. The same petition was also filed against a woman lawyer of the ICC.
