A glorious hundred by Gambhir plus storming fifty by Rohit Uthappa doesnt able to save the defeat .India fell 18 runs short of the target and Australia Celebrating after having a close Encounter.Todays match was the most exciting one as we saw Batsmen making bolwer paid.Before this match all matches were marked with some spectacular bowling but this one really was for bastmen.Especially for Aussie Captain Ricky Ponting who was the star of this match,Today he looked superb he really came making up his mind to overcome the horrible experience of this series.So Lets review the match.

Today Australia came looking like they want their mistakes to be rectified so as to get full confidence before finals come.Ponting with luck favouring him won the toss and elected to bat. He was looking like moving to a Glorious inning of his life. Clarke and Symonds too helped him and after so many days Ricky broke all shackles ,all critics about him and score his 26th Century. After that he looked over huge target.With Australia scoring close to 6 per over it was looking like they might cors but but some fine catches in last overs and two run outs in last over ,Australia manage to score 317 for 7. India needed 318.

With huge pressure on Indian openers,Sachin looked out of form today and gone for 2 . India  trouble started to become more and more big. With huge target to get plus Sachin early departue put India on back foot. Soon India start struggling as Virendra Sehwag ,Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj Singh gone without providing any support and India was on full back foot with 4 for 51. Gambhir recovering India to certain point reached a glorious 100,without him India would have been finished soon.When it start looking that India will be getting over Australia,Australia got the most important breakthrough of Gambhir who was stumped cleverly by Gilchrist.India was almost on verge of defeat but low order batsmen looked like that they might win it. harbhajan and Robin and Irfan palyed some firing shot and took match to interesting phase but wasnt able to keep Patience and gave their wicket as pressure was becoming enormous for them to handle and India just fall short of target.Australia won by 18 runs. Brett Lee was the successful bowler from Australia who took 5 wickets. Man of the match was given to Ricky Ponting for his superb hundred.
