Celtics Rajon Rondo's New Nickname "Rajzilla" is Dunkadelic!

The Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is surrounded by 3 future hall-of-fame players Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce. Boston is the "Beast of the East" and they are led Rajon "Rajzilla" Rondo.

Dunkadelic Sports Marketing founder Derrick E. Vaughan says, "last night when I saw Rondo do that dunk on Chris Bosh, I jumped out of my seat and screamed "Rajzilla", that boy is a flat out beast." The nickname is a combination of his first name and the fictional Japanese pop culture monster Godzilla. Pronunciation: (Rah-zill-ah, the j is silent).

"It was the same affect he had almost 14-years ago when he saw Ron Mercer of the University of  Kentucky do a highlight reel dunk that made him say "Dunkadelic", and that was the birth of the basketball & hip-hop culture metaphor, " Vaughan continues.

The new nickname for Rondo comes as all the hype and press has gone to the Miami Heat and their super-trio Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh.

The Rondo nickname has some irony with the Dunkadelic term. The Dunkadelic term and the Rondo's new nickname came after highlight reel dunks. Both Rondo and Mercer went to University of Kentucky. Mercer who played 9 seasons in the NBA was drafted by the Boston Celtics. Rondo and Mercer both attended Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. Rondo wears the #9 and Mercer played 9 NBA seasons.

Rondo has become the most prolific assists man in the NBA. He leads the league with 14.9 apg and is 3rd in steals with 3.00 spg. He's evolved into a star and a monster on the court. During last seasons NBA Finals it was Rondo who was the main factor for the Celtics as they pushed the LA Lakers to a game 7 of the Finals.

The Celtics have totally dominated the Miami Heat and the man behind that engine is Rajon Rondo. The Heat have no answer for him and that was evident last evening as Boston led the game from beginning to end. The lead was a high as 20 for the Celtics.

The C's held a 61-46 halftime lead and won the game 112-107. The Celtics have defeated the Heat 13 out of 14 regular-season meetings. Boston has the best record in the Eastern Conference 7-2 and the 3rd best record in the NBA behind New Orleans and the LA Lakers.
