Hamilton Tiger-Cats Goal post guy

A Hamilton Tiger-Cats fan had a little bit too much fun at a Canadian Football League game earlier this week. During the game at Hamilton's Ivor Wynne Stadium, one rowdy fan climbed up the goalpost in the end zone.

Late in the fourth quarter of the Tiger Cats game against the Calgary Stampeders, a Tiger-Cats fan with a painted face climbed the east-end goalpost and made it to the top of the goalpost, more than 20 feet above the field. The fan flirted with death, but made it down from the goalpost unharmed.

The crowd cheered the Hamilton Tigercats fan as he climbed the goalpost, but the result could have been much worse if the fan had slipped and been seriously injured. CFL executives are also concerned about security at CFL games.

As for the crazed CFL fan, the 34-year-old Hamilton native was given a provincial offence notice for trespassing. Police decided against pressing criminal charges.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats president Scott Mitchell nicely described the sight of a CFL fan climbing up a goalpost.

"It's the dumbest thing I've ever seen a fan do," he said.
