Manchester United destroy Arsenal in the semi final, and book their place in rome on May 16th. A consolation goal later for Arsenal but the damage was done early on with the first away goal. No silverware for Arsenal this year, but Manchester United are still on for possibly 3 more.

Holders Manchester United clinically disposed of Arsenal to reach a second successive Champions League final.

A slip by Kieran Gibbs allowed Ji-Sung Park to slot in for United before Cristiano Ronaldo lashed in a 40-yard free-kick to leave the Gunners stunned.

Ronaldo sidefooted in another after a swift United counter-attack before the visitors had Darren Fletcher harshly red-carded for a foul on Cesc Fabregas.

Robin van Persie scored the resultant penalty but United easily progressed.
