Chan Ho Park Didn't Mince Words About His Recent Health Problems. He Told Reporters That He Had 'A Lot of Diarrhea.' Here's the Chan Ho Park Video

Let's face it, most athlete interviews are boring. Jocks tend to spout platitudes and never really say anything, especially when they're injured. Teams can also be incredibly tight-lipped about an athlete's condition. Often the only info you get is that someone has an "upper body injury" or "lower body injury." Well Yankees pitcher Chan Ho Park definitely had a lower body injury last week and wasn't shy about it.

Chan Ho Park was asked about reports that he felt ill last week. Park explained that he had a case of diarrhea.

Chan Ho Park Diarrhea Quote

PARK: I had a lot of diarrhea. That - That is what you want to know?

REPORTER: Your manager said you were sick.

PARK: Yeah, I had a lot of diarrhea. I had diarrhea and then.... what? What, it's funny?

REPORTER: No. He thinks its funny.

PARK: The off day - off day I had a lot of diarrhea.. and flu too...a little. A lot of cough. Chest hurts. I feel dehydrated, something like that.

To fully appreciate the diarrhea quote, you really need to check out the Chan Ho Park video. The veteran pitcher's deadpan deliver and the sound of his teammates laughing hysterically in the background make the Chan Ho Park interview comedy gold. You can also see Yankees reliever Mariano Rivera smiling in the background.

So who was laughing at Chan Ho Park? One reporter stated on Twitter:

'Re: Chan Ho Park and the "health issue" he discusses on tape: The laughter you hear is coming from David Robertson and Joba Chamberlain."

Chan Ho Park isn't the only athlete to have ever suffered a bout of diarrhea. During the 2007 NHL playoffs, Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo missed the three minutes of overtime period and was replaced by back-up Dany Sabourin.

At first, it was reported that Luongo had a problem with his goalie equipment. During the offseason, Luongo admitted that he had suffered a case of diarrhea.
