11 Year Old Faylene Frampton Kicked Off Ashland Blue Jays Cheerleading Squad: Refuses To Shake Your Booty Cheer
At 11 years olf Fayleen Frampton was the most experienced member of her the Ashland Blue Jays Cheerleading squad but of all the cheers she was required to do there was one that took a stand against, the Shake Your Booty Cheer.
The words go jump, shake your booty, jump, jump, shake your booty," Fayleen says.
The words aren't the problem, the action that goes with them is.
"Then we jump and shake our booty. I don't like it that people are just staring at my butt and it has nothing to do with cheer leading or football," she explains.
Frampton's mother Sabrina agrees.
"It's got underlying sexual undertones that little girls shouldn't be doing," she say
Volunteer cheer leading coach Toni Harris told NBC News that the cheer is innocent, is in good fun, and a crowd favorite.
She added that no one had complained about the cheer before, and that explaining the controversy, and her decision to bench Faylene for the remainder of the season, was difficult.
Faylene, she said she would make the same decision again. “I don't much regret it. I feel like what I did was right,”
