Update 20-08: Day twelve of the Olympic Games in Beijing started . See update Medal Tally and new photos of all gold medal winners so far. China took the 44th golden medal and equalized with that result already the total of 44 of the USA in 1996 at the end of the games. China took already more golden medals than the 37 gold medals of the USA in 2000 and the 36 of the USA in 2004.
So China is on the way to set the best result of a nation in Olympic History.
Update 19-08: Day eleven of the Beijing Olympics is at the end. A beautifull end with the fourth golden medal for The Netherlands. Ankie van Grunsven did it agian with Salinero. Good work Ankie.
In the Medal Tally China stays in topposition with already 43 gold, 14 silver and 19 bronze medals. USA is far behind with 26 gold, 26 silver and 27 bronze medals. Great Britain had a good day and is on the third place with 16 gold, 9 silver and 8 bronze. Fourth and fifth spot are for Australia and Germany, both with eleven gold. Update 18-08: So the tenth day is at the end and no slow down in the goldrush of the Chinese. They took again some gol medals to bring their total on 39 gold, 14 silver and 14 bronze. USA is now on 22 gold, 24 silver and 26 bronze medals. Great Britain is third, Australia forth and Germany fifth.

Great news for Orange fans. Marianna Vos took gold with cycling. The third for the Netherlands. Well i'm a little proud, we have 3 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals. Not bad for a small country. Good work Marianne !!
The tenth day of the Olympics started this morning with some new gold medal winners. China is still in the lead with already 35 gold, 13 silver and 13 bronze, but Chinese official expect the goldrush is slowing down, because the Chinese are not favorite in the sports in the remaining program. Chinese are not strong, particularly in athletics and team sports such as basketball and soccer.
USA is still on the second place with 19 gold, 21 silver and 25 bronze. Australia is now in third place and Britain is fourth. Germany is fifth. So far 64 countries took one ore more Olympic Medals. Togo is at the last spot with one bronze medal

Update 17-08: The ninth day of the Beijing Olympics will stay in our memories as the day Michael Phelps set an unique record: 8 golden medals ! But China is at the begin of the evening in China still in the lead at the Medal Tally with 31 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze medals. USA is thanks to Micheal Phelps at the second place with 19 gold, 20 silver and 24 bronze medals.
Britain had a great day and Canada is at the 17th place in the Medal Tally and our own Dutch team took the second gold, so the Netherlands are at the 14th place with 2 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals. Not bad for a little country. See the complete Medal Tally below.

Update 16-08: Well the eight day of the Olympics started fantastic with a great race of Michael Phelps who took his seventh gold medal. China is still leading the Medal Tally with already 27 gold medals. See the new pictures of all gold medal winners of the Beijing Olympics. China is still in the lead with 27 gold, 12 silver and 6 bronze, the USA stays second, but they have more medals in total: 16 gold, 16 silver and 20 bronze. The third place in the Medal Tally is now for Germany, fourth is Korea and Australia is on the fifth spot. From third till tenth place the order is changed frequently when one of the countries wins a medal.
Update 15-08: The seventh Olympic day is coming to the end. After a good start for the USA with some golden medals in swimming it was again China that took the most gold medals. So China is still leading with 26 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze. A total of 41 so far. The USA is in second place with overall 46 medals (14 gold, 13 silver and 19 bronze). So when you realize that Michael Phelps took his sixth gold medal it is not going well for team USA.

Update 14-08: The sixth day of the Olympics is coming to an end. China is still leading the Medal Tally with already 22 golden medals. The USA is far behind with only 10 golden medals and when you realize that Michael Phelps took 5 of them, well you know.

Update13-08: After the fifth day of the Olympics China is still leading the Medal Tally, the USA did good business, with some new golden Phelps medals. But China is still in the lead with 17 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals. USA is second with already 29 medals, two more than China.
