Chris Jericho Punches Female Fan After WWE Show In Canada
WWE superstar Chris Jericho hit a female fan after a WWE house show in Victoria, BC.
Jericho was leaving the arena when his car was surrounded by wrestling fans. According to eyewitness accounts, Jericho opened the door to his vehicle in the middle of the road, after being heckled by a wrestling fan Kalen Johl. Jericho jumped out of his car, and used a racial slur against the fan, who is South Asian. The fan's girlfriend, Ashley Levey, intervened and Jericho hit the 20-year-old woman. Others in the crowd jumped in and attacked the Canadian-born WWE star.
One witness said she saw the 225-pound wrestler spit in a woman’s face after she approached his white Chevy Tahoe and castigated him for losing the heavyweight championship to John Cena. With spit dripping down her face, the woman started hitting him, said Darshan Stevens, who watched from about a metre away. Jericho turned and punched her in the face, she said.
In the world of pro wrestling, it's often hard to tell what is real and fake. However, Victoria police have confirmed that an altercation took place. Jericho left before police could arrive but two fans were arrested but later released without charge.

Is this the same Chris Jericho who was on Larry King the other night touting his own prowess and telling Mickey Rourke that he had overstepped his bounds by calling him out on the red carpet after one of the awards shows. Now he is beating up his fans and women to boot. He is supposedly a professional wrestler. Physical altercations on his part should be the issue for the authorities. These events are all about hype. The fact that the hype after the fact did not go in the direction he would have liked does not excuse his actions. He could have stayed in his vehicle and moved along.

"Classic WWE reversal as Jericho defended his record: "He made no mistakes, but I think he did make a mistake at the SAG Awards when he mentioned WrestleMania and called me out because if he got his wish and had a confrontation with me at WrestleMania, I think the ending of the Jericho-Rourke movie wouldn't turn out for Mr. Rourke as it did in The Wrestler."

Lets see here...He gets in his car and attempts to leave. His progress is STOPPED by an idiot how takes his wrestling a bit too seriously...
A mob of 50 race to his car..He gets out and tries to get the "security" to help him get out of there (notice him trying to tell the security guard to get the guy from in front of his car...
Hes grabbed at and pushed..he didnt strike back and tried to get into his car...Another loser with too much time on her hands pushes him..he reacts and the mob starts in on him....
We can all sit here on our high horse and say "oh he should of stayed in the car".."he should have not reacted" but lets see what we would do in that situation...the Crowd caused this whole problem..they brought it on themselves...I wish jericho would have knocked a few of them out (btw Im not a Jericho fan nor a WWF fan..just calling it as I see it)

wow are you serious. The women was pushing, hitting, and spitting on him and your all goin to blame jericho? Your ridiculus. Then the man called him out and attacked him so Jericho only gets the right to fight back....get with the program!
at 02:30 on February 9th, 2009
Jericho was 100% justified in defending himself. She went after him when he was getting in his car. He didn't know if she had a weapon or something....celebrities cannot take chances like that. I would have done the same thing. The "fan" should be arrested.
at 07:50 on February 9th, 2009
He was not getting in his car. He got out to verbally abuse one fan and assault her. He is at fault. Read the post.
at 13:22 on February 9th, 2009
You are incorrect. The post is also incorrect. Do some fact checking and video watching before assuming.

it fake alwayes is just jetting u ready for the big weslermania 25 event
at 18:15 on February 9th, 2009
dont stick u for that jerk, his shouldn't have put his hands on her, all she wanted was a autograph. he had no right to punch a woman.
at 02:37 on February 9th, 2009
She clearly pushed him first, then probably said something to piss him off. He was probably irritated enough, so he spat in her face. He turned to get in his car, she attacked him, he defended himself. Plain and simple.
at 07:51 on February 9th, 2009
He got out of his car to verbally abuse a friend of hers and when she protested he spat at her. I consider that the first attack. Read the post. He was in the wrong.
at 11:06 on February 9th, 2009
I don't think he was in the wrong at all. He got out of his car because he was unable to drive forward, there were people blocking the road. AND THEN this happened.
at 12:33 on February 9th, 2009
Once again the post is WRONG ... Watch the video ... he gets out because people are surrounding his car ... Hell they could have been causing damage to it ... He told security to do their jobs .. they didnt .. SO being surrounded by a group of angry redneck fans made him feel out numbered and threatened .. especially with security to scared to move .. the fan attacked him the second he went into his car and had his back turned .. he hit the bitch - and should have stomped her
at 07:35 on February 9th, 2009
In my opinion he should of stayed in his car i dont care if the fan provoked him or not he should of had security out there and he don't have the right to hit a fan.. i don't side with Jericho

Bull. You people need to read more reports instead of just quickly skimming one with the 'testimony' of the people involved before you post. If you actually do some research, what you can on the Internet, I think you'll find that this was not an unprovoked attack by Chris, but a reasonable response to continued abuse by a pair of drunken troublemakers. These two had been arguing with other fans earlier, and threatened security already. Sure, the 'correct' thing to do, would have been to stay in the vehicle, and call the cops (Security wasn't doing anything to stop this until well into the altercation). How many of you would have been able to do so with someone beating on your car window? Add to that the adrenaline probably still in his system from the show, and you have a completely expected reaction. As to the "she never hit him", search youtube. There's actually a really good vid of her shoving him in the back when he tried to climb BACK in his vehicle. She got what she deserved. You don't hit physically assault someone, and expect not to be hit back. Woman or Man. If you take that step, expect reciprocation.
at 08:08 on February 9th, 2009
Who said "she never hit him". I said he attacked her physically first by spitting on her and exposing her to who knows what. That is a physical attack.
at 11:07 on February 9th, 2009
In both youtube videos, and the compilation video, there is no spitting action. Find it for me and inform me at what time it is as proof.
at 12:06 on February 9th, 2009
I have no intention of finding it in a video. The spitting action is reported by witnesses and the Vancouver Sun.
at 13:22 on February 9th, 2009
That then, is lazy commenting on your part. There are other websites and newsporters that say the spitting is done by the woman to Jericho. So you might want to check your facts before assuming.
at 13:33 on February 9th, 2009
There are plenty of portions of every video where the view of Chris is blocked and there is no way from those angles to see if he did or did not. I will not make assumptions that the witnesses and reports in other publications were wrong because you say so.
at 13:46 on February 9th, 2009
But it is also incorrect to make assumptions that this article is right based on the same issues. You don't see him spit on the woman, either.
at 10:07 on February 9th, 2009
...and "released without charge"?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??! Just another example of why ALL COPS ARE USELESS!!! God forbid if they ever did their jobs.

WOW!That's shocking. He was one of the best and most respectful guests we've had at our convention. He was totally in the wrong.
DarkShutter has contributed a photo to this story.
at 13:26 on February 9th, 2009
He actually wasn't. If you watch any videos or read any reports besides this one sided version, you'll find that it was more the fault of Security, and provocation than anything.
at 14:09 on February 9th, 2009
I was thinking hard about contributing photos for this "report" 'cause it's a bit one-sided. None of us have been there and you can read lots of stuff about the incident online. According to the source I read first (http://www.wrestlescoop.com/2009/02/08/report-chris-jericho-involved-in-altercation-with-female-fan/) he was provoked and judging from the vids floating round the net, I also think he only defended himself. Even though he lives and feeds off the fans' money he shouldn't be provoked that way. Though there's a lot of fuss made about it 'cause he hit a girl. Wouldn't have been such a big issue if he hit a male fan. But anyways, what's done can't be undone. I guess he'll have to deal with a lot till that whole story is through.

Listen, Jericho hit a women. Whether it is self defense or not is very shaky. The idea that a 235lb professional wrestler punched a women, who looked average sized, because he perceived her to be a threat does not stand up and would not stand up in court. It was completely unreasonable to react in the way he did, the WWE should penalize him.
It is a big deal if you hit a female and you are a male. He can and did physically over power her and her 20 year old boyfriend. The fact that he was provocted does not change what the law says you can and cannot do. In this case the law says that you cannot spit on someone when they make fun of you leading to a confrontation.

That is the most sexist thing I've ever heard. She may not have spit in his face, but she verbally berated him until he snapped. In my opinion, she got what she deserved.

I am 27, a stay at home mom of two kids and married. I was really assaulted and raped when I was 17 and I think to pulling assault charges against Jericho for of which was PROVOKED BY the White trash, will damage real abuse as of which I received and has really scared me for life.
I am not saying its not bad to go around hitting ladies, but this was no lady, she spit on him first, she shoved him first. If he had stayed in the car with security still doing nothing, whats to say that car wouldn't of been more ruined and or a windshield was shattered and his life in more damage. He had to think in a split second decision what to do and as a chick who went to a trial had REAL charges filed just for saying no to sex, I am so outraged at a very louse assault charges she wants on Chris.
Ladies like her make it harder for real cases like my own to be legit, because so many chicks want money, a easy ride and use that "law" to get away with this above crap.
The whole thing with he is a 200 plus guy wrestler how dare he, IT was one guy vs everyone else, the security were fat lazy idiots. No one knows what they would of done in his spot and people who aren't wrestlers and never had to deal with fans like that shouldn't be saying he is some beater, or he is in the wrong or etc.
Chris Irving the man has had NO track record, no priors, nothing to suggest he is a violent person, hell even with Shawn Michaels being changed I could see more of this then Jericho.
at 16:41 on February 9th, 2009
He was actually getting into his car, the facts came from a fan not the police report told by a lot. He was struck first and I am sorry if a women wants to hit someone she needs to expect to be hit back.
at 19:13 on February 9th, 2009
The post isn't accurate and isn't in line with what actual news outlets are reporting.
If you watch the video, you see him pushed once and then what appears to be another push or being hit as he tries to get back in his car. She laid her hands on him first, the video makes that very clear. He responded.
She should be arrested for assault. Plain and simple.
