Chris Paul To Lakers Rumors: New Orleans Guard Wants Trade
Chris Paul Trade Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic, NY Knicks
New Orlean Hornets super star point guard wants to follow in the foot steps on LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh according to CBS. No, Chris Paul is not looking to be traded to Miami (at least not yet) but he is reportedly looking to be traded from the New Orleans Hornets. CBS quotes an anonymous source.
He wants out," said the person, who has been briefed on Paul's strategy but spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss it publicly. "He wants to play with another superstar. He wants to follow LeBron's model of teaming up with other great players."
Chris Paul is apparently unhappy with the Hornets' slow progress in putting together a winning team. New Orleans finished 37-45 and missed the playoffs.
The Los Angeles Lakers, and the Orlando Magic are two teams being mentioned as possible destinations for Chris Paul with the New York Knicks popping up too.
Chris Paul with the Orlando is a compelling thought considering his skills at the pick and roll game. Los Angeles triangle-in-one would be interesting as well.
But the New Orleans Hornets seem committed to keeping Chris Paul. Recently, New Orleans made dramatic front office changes, naming a new G.M. and head coach.
A little more than a month after making 38-year-old Monty Williams the youngest coach in the NBA, the Hornets hired Williams' longtime friend and former NBA teammate, 40-year-old Dell Demps, as general manager Wednesday.
"Beginning with the hiring of head coach Monty Williams, we've begun a path of building our basketball operations with people we feel are going to be the best in the business, and Dell Demps certainly fits into that category," Hornets president Hugh Weber said on Wednesday.
