Chuck Daly and the 1992 Olympic Dream Team Legacy

Chuck Daly, the leader of the infamous 1992 Dream Team with a roster filled with hall-of-famers and NBA greats from Michael Jordan to Larry Bird easily took the Summer Olympics Basketball gold in 1992. With the recent passing of the great coach Chuck Daly, he will always be remembered for his leadership in the 1992 games. 

The USA team defeated Puerto Rico in the Quarterfinals 115-77, breezed by Lithuania 127-76 in the Semis, and outmatched the Croatian team in the Gold medal game 117-85. The team really was "The Dream Team' as head coach Chuck Daly did not use a single timeout during the tournament proving basketball prowess by the Americans in 1992.

The 1992 basketball team was called the dream team, the 2008 basketball team is called the "redeem team." Having lost the glory from the 1992 Dream Team, USA basketball had to redeem basketball great in Beijing at the 2008 Summer Olympics. There will only be one dream team and that was in 1992 with 10 of the 12 players on that team named to the 50 Greatest players in NBA history in 1996.
