The City of Miami Proclaims June NBHHCM 2K11 to Honor NBA at 65
The City of Miami home to the Miami Heat and their 3 superstar players Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh have become one of the latest NBA team cities to proclaim this coming June as NBHHCM (National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month) 2K11.
The City of Miami NBHHCM 2K11 Proclamation was created to honor the NBA at 65, the NBA/ABA Merger at 35, the 75th Anniversary-year of basketball becoming an official sport at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany, and the history of the Miami Heat as an NBA franchise.
The NBA was founded on June 6, 1946 in New York City. June 6, 2011 will mark the 65th Anniversary date of when the NBA was founded at the Hotel Commodore in NYC.
The NBA/ABA merger was announced on June 17, 1976. The merger increased the NBA from 18 to 22 teams. The Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, New York (New Jersey) Nets, and San Antonio Spurs became new NBA team franchises. June 17, 2011 will mark the 35th Anniversary of the merger.
Derrick E. Vaughan founder of the NBHHCM Foundation says, "the City of Miami NBHHCM 2K11 Proclamation will be dedicated to Pat Riley, D-Wade, LeBron, and C-Bosh. They have become the NBA first-team of hoops and hip-hop culture."
The Miami Heat became the 25th NBA franchise in 1988. The Charlotte Hornets was the other expansion team that would play in the 1988-89 season.
The Heat won the 2006 NBA Finals over the Dallas Mavericks 4-2 and Dwyane Wade was named The Finals MVP.
LeBron James and Chris Bosh were both born in 1984. 1984 was the birth-year of the hoops and hip-hop culture fusion time-period born in 1984 that is known today as The "Dunkadelic-Era" In America.
Sean "Diddy" Combs, Rick Ross, and Drake are hip-hop culture stars who sit court-side regularly to see Miami Heat home games .
The City of Miami has its own distinctive hip-hop culture sound and style.
The Heat will play the Chicago Bulls on Sunday in game-3 of their Eastern Conference Finals. The series is tied 1-1.
The 2011 NBA Finals will start on June 2, 2011. NBHHCM has been proclaimed for the month of June since 2009.
