The entire baseball world is talking about Cliff Lee signing with the Philadelphia Phillies. When the offseason started, it appeared that it was a matter of time before Cliff Lee signed an insanely huge contract with the New York Yankees. But Lee decided to return to his former team and many are wondering why he signed with the Phillies?
There is one possible reason: Cliff Lee's wife. According to one Cliff Lee's wife Kristen Lee reportedly doesn't like New York and preferred that they return to the City of Brotherly Love.
Kristen Lee was apparently upset about New York fans treated her when Lee and the Texas Rangers visited the Yankees earlier this year.
Perhaps the Rangers' greatest sales pitch simply was having Kristen sit in the visiting family section at Yankee Stadium during the playoffs. She says there were ugly taunts. Obscenities. Cups of beer thrown. Even fans spitting from the section above
Philadelphia reporter Randy Miller tweeted: "Apparently incident with Lee's wife had last fall with Yankees fans wasn't forgotten. Besides that, she's not fond of NY. She LOVES Philly."

Finally, the YANKEES are served up some good old fashioned justice.Yankees players i.e. A-rod, Clemens, Giambi...are cheaters and are rightfully the LOSERS in the end of this one. Besides, anybody with any real class wouldn't want to play for the "evil empire" anyway. Good for Cliff Lee and his wife, too. BAM!

Cliff and Kristen have been together since 7th grade. I have a feeling that if she's not happy, he's not happy. And that should not be underestimated. If your wife is in a bad mood, it can be hard to step up on the mound and pitch a good game.
