Jennifer Colli, a former women's basketball player at Southern Methodist University, is suing her alma mater because she believes she was discriminated against because of her sexual orientation.

Colli has accused her former coach Rhonda Rompola of asking inappropirate questions about her personal life and the personal lives of her teammates.

In her lawsuit, Colli's attorneys say she was surprised by the first official SMU team meeting she attended in November 2005.

"The topic of this meeting was not about basketball at all, but about the gay relationships on the team and how Rompola did not approve of them," the petition states.

She also accuses SMU's of revoking her scholarship after complaining about Rompola toathletic director Steve Orisini. Colli also believes that the school prevented her from transferring to a different school.
