College World Series 2009 Score: LSU Beats Texas For CWS Title

The LSU Tigers won the 2009 College World Series, soundly defeating the Texas Longhorns 11-4 in a decisive Game 3. The win gives LSU baseball its the sixth national championship.
Jared Mitchell hit a three-run homer in the first inning as the Tigers go out to a quick 4-0 lead. The U of T fought back to the tie the game, but the Tigers managed to pull away in the sixth after Mikie Mahtook hit a tie-breaking double.
The 2009 College World Series win caps off a great year for Jared Mitchell. He was named the College World Series Most Outstanding Player, played wide receiver for the 2007 LSU football team that won the BCS championship, and was drafted by the Chicago White Sox last week.
