30 April 2008 By Chris Waters PLAY has been abandoned on the opening day of Yorkshire's County Championship match against Nottinghamshire at Headingley Carnegie. The players took an early tea with Yorkshire 51-1 in their first innings after heavy rain started to fall at around 3.30pm.

But play was eventually called off for the day with only 30.2 overs having been bowled.

England captain Michael Vaughan is unbeaten on 25 and Anthony McGrath undefeated on 14. Joe Sayers was the man to fall, bowled by Mark Ealham for nine.
