European soccerr powerhouse Real Madrid has signed Cristiano Ronaldo for $131 million, just a day after getting hold of Brazilian superstar Kaka for $94 million.
The Spanish side is currently facing financial problems, wooed Ronaldo away from Manchester United, who was already seeking to leave the English club. The deal is expected to be sealed by the end of the month.
Add it up and the club is dropping more than $225 million -- not counting salaries -- to procure two of the best players in the sport. Ronaldo was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2008. Kaka won in 2007.
