Tuesday, October 29, 1996: The New York Yankees are the 1996 World Series champs and today's the parade. I'm not a baseball fan particularly, but I thought what the hell, why not go since I was in New York. Right afterward (and I don't think I stayed for the actual parade...too many people) I went uptown to see RuPaul sign CDs.

Update: Some online sleuthing reveals that I took this photo in front of 305 Broadway, between Duane and Thomas Streets, north of City Hall. I'm remembering now that I didn't venture much farther south than this due to the crowds, and that I definitely didn't stay for the whole parade.

Update: Here's a write-up of the parade that appeared in the next day's New York Times. Crikey, is it just me or does it sound way too gushy for a supposedly objective newspaper. Something about the romanticism of this article makes it seem a hundred years old to me.

Update: Here's the same location ten years later. You can find anything on Flickr!
