Game keys: New Orleans' Tony Armas had pitched 10 consecutive quality starts coming into Wednesday in Des Moines, Iowa. Iowa scored two runs in the first inning and two in the fourth to snap the streak and defeat Armas and the Zephyrs. Armas walked Ben Broussard, and Jason Dubois hit a two-run home run to right to begin the scoring in the first.

Notes: The Zephyrs are accepting monetary donations to go to the American Red Cross in Des Moines to aid citizens after the devastating flooding this past week. Fans who donate $5 or more during the Zephyrs' upcoming four-game homestand from June 21-24 will get a ticket to the Zephyrs' game July 10.

good stuff:

René, I like this story. It's good stuff.

Thanks, azzay, I thought it great that a sports team from an area (New Orleans) that is still trying to recover from  a catastrophic flood (Katrina) is making an effort and a sacrifice to help the flood victims in the MidWest. those tickets they are giving away for a $5 donation are not cheap.
