Curtis Brinkley, the rookie running back for the Philadelphia Chargers, was shot just outside of the Pennsylvania city on the morning of July 10, 2009.

His condition isn't known, but a local TV station reported his wounds are not life-threatening.

The Inquirer reports Brinkley was in his car at an intersection when someone started firing a gun at him.

The Chargers signed Brinkley as an undrafted free agent this spring.

More information to come as it is released.

The shooting occurred in Cheltenham Township, just outside the city limits of Philadelphia. Also, just to set the record straight, the capital city of Pennsylvania is Harrisburg not Phila.  I hope that this football player will be o.k.  He was just sitting in his car and someone fired at him.
