A thousand charity cyclists  raised money for  Leukaemia Research. There were several routes available to suit all abilities. Some came dressed as pirates and some  men wore pink Hawaiian dresses.

A few slovenly cyclists, unable to get out of bed early, started late at 12pm and were still peddling away at 6pm. The weather was perfect for the occasion, sunny, but not too hot.

Everyone seemed full of high spirits, so much so, one cyclist was seen singing the old favourite 'I'm forever blowing bubbles', though normally sung at football matches.

Awesome video. I watched it three times, eyes straining for pirate costumes.

Thanks.. I don't think they were in the video though. When I saw them they just shot past me and it was too late. However, maybe other people have taken more vids.

It was an excellent day, with lots of people turning out for a great day. Thankfully there was no rain in sight!

I think that more than a thousand people took part. There were three start points - Chelsea, Richmond and Silvertown, and probably more than a thousand riders starting at each of theses places. There were two different routes up or down the Thames, each of 26 miles and some riders did both. A great example of people doing something they enjoy for the benefit of others.

Great videos. Great to see photos of the different routes. I normally just do the city.. but looking at those other pics I may do something else.
